The Hope Centre supports members of the Minehead Community who are homeless, have problems with drug and alcohol, are lonely or disadvantaged in any way.
We help people get their lives back on track. The Centre is a place of friendship, support, advice but most of all - hope.
We have a Tuesday drop-in every week at Minehead Baptist Church; an Allotment where our volunteers and visitors grow vegetables and fruit for the drop-in and we organise special events and excursions.
a Police Community Support Officer for Minehead Town Centre and I fully support the work of The Hope Centre.
I have been coming to The Hope Centre since the start. The work of the volunteers at The Hope Centre is fantastic. The compassion and willingness to help individuals is commendable. Most of the time they are there just to listen and offer words of encouragement or advice.
I visit most weeks and chat to the volunteers and visitors alike, and offer information or advice where needed. I have also got to know a lot of the visitors and they now see me as a friendly face and someone they can approach.
The impact The Hope Centre has had on the community of Minehead has been huge. They are still evolving but I fully support them and help in any way I can.
